Canal Cruises, Charters, Tearoom, Canal Museum and Self-drive Boat Hire

This webcam shows Linlithgow Canal Centre, one of Linlithgow's main visitor attractions, in real time.

Linlithgow Canal Centre's 2012 summer season opens at Easter weekend - Friday 6th April and continues till the end of September.  During the winter months you can still charter St Magdalene or hire Leamington for a self-drive outing.

From the Linlithgow Canal Centre, which is located off Manse Road, just south of Linlithgow Station, Linlithgow Union Canal Society (LUCS), which is entirely run by unpaid volunteers, operates:

  • Boat Trips to the Avon Aqueduct on St Magdalene - Easter to end September only - every Saturday and Sunday departing 2:30pm, returning 5:00pm
  • Short (20 minute) 'Town Stretch' Boat Trips on Victoria - Weekends Easter to the end of September and every day from 2nd July till 24th August 2012 - departing every half hour from 2:00pm till 4:30pm
  • The Canal Tearoom - open 2:00 till 5:00 on the same days as the short boat trips (see above)
  • Day and Half-day Self-drive Hire of Leamington (max 12 passengers)
  • Scotland's only Canal Museum - open 1:30 till 5:00 on the same days as the short boat trips (see above) (admission FREE)
  • School Parties and Charter Hire (by arrangement)

Victoria 40 Year Celebration Weekend - Sat 19th and Sun 20th May 2012

LUCS trip boat "Victoria", which has been operating in Linlithgow since 1978, was built at Braunstone Boatyard in 1972. LUCS is celebrating her her 40th year in 2012.  <more>

Canal Fun Day - Sunday 19th August 2012

This is a "Don't Miss" event, featuring the annual Cardboard Boat Race.
