Free Linlithgow Events Guide

Every household in Linlithgow will receive a free copy of the Linlithgow Events Guide, sponsored by Stewart Electrical and supported by West Lothian Council, covering local events from April to September 2009.  A total of 50,000 copies will be distributed far and wide and a second edition will be issued in September covering October 2009 to March 2010.  It is hoped that this useful guide will then be published and widely distributed every six months.

Easter Openings

LUCS Boat Cruises, Tea Room and Canal Museum open at 2pm on 11th April, from 2-5pm every weekend until the end of September and also 2-5pm all week during July and August.  The 2½ hour Union Canal cruise to the Avon Aqueduct departs at 2:00pm (no booking - just turn up in good time).  This year LUCS Members bringing a fare paying guest travel free (if you're not a Member of LUCS, you can join at the Canal Basin)  and Kids go Free! on the last Sunday of every month (up to 2 children per fare paying adult).

Linlithgow's Story at Annet House is also now open until 31st October.  Here you can find out lots about Linlithgow's past.  Opening times are 11am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and 1pm to 4pm on Sundays.

Big Events

2009 is the year of the Homecoming and Linlithgow isn't missing out!  Party at the Palace 1503 takes place on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th May from 12:30 till 5pm.  Later in the year we will have Spectacular Jousting at the Palace on 11th and 12th July, A Taste of the Tattoo(Free on the Peel on 13th August) and Barbara Dickson will headline at this year's Linlithgow Folk Festival on September 12th.

And More!

The Civic Festival will be bigger than ever, running from 5th to 20th June and leading up to Linlithgow Marches on June 16th.   Scotch Hop takes place on Wednesday evenings from 15th July till 12th August and the new Kingsfield Golf Course will open soon, adding a first class 9 hole golf course to the existing golf range, training facilities and "Ohills" putting green.
