With the highly successful 2008 Civic Festival behind us - including Linlithgow Marches and the Children's Gala Day - the summer season is here. From now till the end of August, there are short boat trips on Victoria every afternoon from 2:00 - 4:30 pm at Manse Road Canal Basin and the LUCS Tea Room is open for a relaxing break in lovely surroundings. Annet House is open from 11:00 am till 5:00pm for all to enjoy Linlithgow's Story. Every Wednesday evening from 16th July till 13th August sees Scotch Hop in the Place courtyard.

The long awaited transformation of the Burgh Halls is scheduled to begin in August and they will be closed for 18 months or so. The Community Council has organised a "Farewell to the Burgh Halls" ceilidh/disco on 26th July, with proceeds going to the Marches and Gala Day. <more>
Pride & Passion Linlithgow has been awarded funds to set up and run one or more high quality webcams in Linlithgow so that potential visitors and home-sick exiles will be able to see Linlithgow's high spots in real time from anywhere in the world. We hope to get the first camera up and running soon - more details next month.
There is lots more coming, including the Canal Fun Day and a major event on the Peel on 17th August, Linlithgow Folk Festival from 11th till 14th September, Celebrate Linlithgow from 17th October till 2 November and the Linlithgow Book Festival from 31 October till 2 November.
