Reaching Out: Sauerland and Grapevine Twinning Events

West Lothian's boundaries extend across the globe, with a fifty strong party from Linlithgow Reed Band currently visiting the picturesque region of Sauerland in northern Germany, which has been twinned with West Lothian since the 1972 and a delegation from Grapevine, Texas USA visiting West Lothian in April to firm up on plans for the new twinning. The first major link will be in June when a large delegation from Grapevine, including a school marching band, will visit West Lothian.

Easter Openings

Easter weekend (21-24 March) sees the opening of Linlithgow's Story at Annet House on Friday 21st March, 11am to 5pm Mon-Sat, 1pm to 4pm on Sundays, and the start of the LUCS Canal Cruising season at Manse Road Basin 2pm - 5pm every weekend from now until the end of September, with the tea room and canal museum also open. There will be the usual interesting display of model boats on the afternoon of Saturday 22 March.

Donaldson's College on TV

Donaldson's College has moved to Linlithgow and the move will be the subject of a TV programme on Monday 24th at 9pm on BBC2 (repeated at 6:10pm on Saturday 29th March).

Calamity Jayne

LAMP's children's show this year is Rootin' Tootin' Calamity Jayne at the Academy Theatre from Monday 31st March till Saturday 5th April.

Michael Marra in Concert

After the highly successful "Keep Matt McGinn Singing" night on 1st March, the build-up to Linlithgow Folk Festival Association's 10th festival continues with talented composer, songwriter and musical Michael Marra in the Academy Theatre on 10th May. <More>
