Linlithgow is a historic Royal Burgh located in the central lowlands of Scotland - about 20 miles from Edinburgh and under an hour from Glasgow by train or car.

It was the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots and the preserved ruins of the Royal Palace can be visited in a picturesque setting next to Linlithgow Loch.

The town has many other attractions and facilities for visitors.

Linlithgow is a great base from which to explore Scotland, with excellent road and rail links.

The Visitor Information Centre is located in Linlithgow Burgh Halls at The Cross, Linlithgow Palace & St Michael's Church are open. The Linlithgow Museum at Annet House and Linlithgow Canal Centre are open for the season. Improve your golf at Kingsfield Golf Centre. Walk the Linlithgow Heritage Trail. Try the Climbing Wall at Lowport Centre and lots of other Sport & Leisure activities.

Many local events are listed in the What's On Events Diary, maintained by local organisations. In particular, June sees the annual Linlithgow Civic Festival, including Linlithgow Marches and the Children's Gala Day.
