Linlithgow is a historic Royal Burgh located in the central lowlands of Scotland - about 20 miles from Edinburgh and under an hour from Glasgow by train or car.

It was the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots and the preserved ruins of the Royal Palace can be visited in a picturesque setting next to Linlithgow Loch.

The town has many other attractions and facilities for visitors.

Linlithgow Palace & St Michael's Church are open.  Improve your golfing skills at Kingsfield Golf Centre.  There's Canal Cruising every weekend and daily (Town Boat Trips only) from now until mid August - view the Linlithgow Canal Centre Webcam now!  The Go Ape treetop adventure at Beecraigs is now in full swing.  Walk the Linlithgow Heritage Trail to see many places of architectural and historical interest.    Linlithgow Film Society has a varied programme.  You can try the Climbing Wall at Lowport Centre and lots of other Sport & Leisure activities - why not hire a mountain bike or cycle to the "Ochils" and be rewarded by half-price putting.
